Harry Chidgey

Harry Chidgey was a first-class cricketer and test match umpire [1]. Born in Somerset in 1879, he played 99 first-class matches for Somerset as a wicket keeper and right-handed batsman between 1900 and 1921. He took 135 catches, completed 55 stumpings and scored 717 runs with a best of 45. He umpired the England v Australia Test at Old Trafford in 1926 and died in Somerset in 1941.
